Kathmandu, May 7 — Renowned culinary author and food heritage advocate Rohini Rana officially launched her third cookbook, Memories on a Platter: My Fusion Cookbook, at a grand yet intimate event held at the Nepal Army Auditorium in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
The event brought together close friends, family members, diplomats, distinguished guests, and notable personalities from Nepal’s social and culinary circles. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle attended the ceremony as the chief guest, highlighting the growing recognition of culinary arts and food literature in Nepal.

Following the success of her earlier publications, The Rana Cookbook and The Nepali Cookbook, Rohini Rana’s latest release explores the intersection of Nepali heritage cuisine with global culinary influences. The book reflects personal memories, family traditions, and recipes inspired by her travels and experiences, offering readers a contemporary fusion approach rooted in culture and storytelling.

A short panel discussion during the launch event was moderated by Ms. Mansi Agrawal, who also contributed to the cookbook through photography arrangements and visual coordination for the publication.

During the event, guests were given the opportunity to purchase signed copies of the book at a special discounted price. Rohini Rana personally interacted with attendees during an exclusive book-signing session, making the evening more engaging and memorable for readers and invited guests.

The evening concluded with a specially curated dining experience inspired by the themes and flavours presented in the cookbook. Moving away from the conventional buffet format commonly seen at formal gatherings, the culinary presentation offered guests a more refined and immersive gastronomic experience.

Known for documenting and preserving Nepali culinary heritage through literature, Rohini Rana has established herself as one of Nepal’s prominent voices in food writing. Her previous books received appreciation for showcasing traditional Rana cuisine and regional Nepali recipes to a wider audience, both nationally and internationally.
With Memories on a Platter, Rohini Rana continues her journey of blending history, culture, and personal storytelling through food, further contributing to Nepal’s evolving culinary narrative.
