Chef Suman Napit is a seasoned culinary professional whose journey spans over 23 years across Asia, the Middle East, the Indian Ocean, and the South Pacific. Born on 23 July 1980 in Lalitpur, Nepal, his earliest inspiration came not from a classroom, but from his grandfather’s kitchen. His grandfather, a respected Vaidya and Ayurvedic healer, was also the master chef of the community, preparing food for weddings, festivals, and rituals with precision, care, and an instinct that left a lasting impression on young Suman. From him, Suman learned that cooking is not just about recipes — it is about respect, presence, and the people who share the meal.

After completing his School Leaving Certificate, Chef Suman honed his craft at HMTTC Kathmandu, graduating with formal culinary training that gave language to his innate skills. He began his professional career as a Kitchen Apprentice at Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Nepal’s leading five-star hotel. There, he learned the value of discipline, consistency, and teamwork, laying the foundation for his future leadership roles.

Chef Suman’s talents soon took him abroad to InterContinental Hotel Doha in Qatar, where he embraced international culinary standards and techniques. He further expanded his experience in the Seychelles, working at Kempinski Seychelles Resort and JA Enchanted Island Resort. These global experiences enriched his expertise in Southeast Asian, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, African, and South Pacific cuisines, while reinforcing his belief that exceptional food is rooted in care and connection.

Back in Nepal, Chef Suman led several prestigious kitchens, including Ramada Encore Kathmandu, Ikons Hotel Company, and Hotel Manang, consistently raising culinary standards and mentoring teams to deliver excellence. His leadership, creativity, and operational expertise earned him numerous accolades, including “Chef of the Month,” “Employee of the Month,” and recognition for supervisory excellence and service of excellence.
