Chef Rojan Chapagain

Chef Rojan Chapagain is a passionate young Nepali chef whose culinary journey reflects dedication, hard work, and a continuous desire to grow within the global hospitality industry. Originally born in Butwal and raised in Nawalparasi, Nepal, his connection with cooking began at a very early age. As a child, he often helped his mother in the kitchen, and by the age of eight, food preparation had already become something more than a household activity — it slowly developed into a genuine passion that would shape his future career.

Understanding his growing interest in hospitality and cooking, Rojan pursued his higher secondary education in Hotel Management at New Life College in Nawalparasi. Even during his student years, he displayed an entrepreneurial mindset by running a small restaurant from home while continuing his studies. This early experience not only strengthened his practical cooking skills but also taught him the value of discipline, customer service, and responsibility in the food business.

After completing his higher education, he moved to India to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management. His time in India became an important turning point in his culinary journey. Alongside his studies, he gained practical hospitality exposure by working as a waiter in outdoor catering services, where he learned the fundamentals of service operations, teamwork, and guest handling in professional environments.

During his academic journey, Rojan completed his operational training at Courtyard by Marriott Agra, one of the internationally recognized hospitality brands. The experience introduced him to professional kitchen standards, hotel operations, and international hospitality culture. After completing his studies, he continued working in India for nearly three years, gaining valuable industry experience and refining his understanding of food preparation and kitchen systems.

Driven by the ambition to grow internationally, Rojan later moved to the United Arab Emirates, where he worked as a cook at a burger restaurant in Abu Dhabi. There, he strengthened his practical culinary skills, particularly in fast-paced kitchen operations, stock management, food preparation, and maintaining hygiene and quality standards. His experience in the UAE helped him adapt to multicultural work environments while improving his confidence as a professional chef.

Today, Chef Rojan Chapagain is based in the United Kingdom, where he currently serves as the Head Chef at Storia, an Italian restaurant located in Maidenhead, England. In his leadership role, he manages kitchen operations, supervises the culinary team, oversees inventory management, and prepares authentic sauces and dishes from scratch while maintaining consistency and quality. Working in an Italian restaurant has also allowed him to deepen his understanding of Italian cuisine, traditional cooking techniques, ingredients, and menu development.
