Chef Saugat Bhandari Chhetri’s journey in the culinary world is a story of passion, perseverance, and unyielding dedication. Born in Banke - Nepal, Chef Saugat grew up in a simple household where family and tradition were at the heart of everyday life. From a young age, he found joy in the kitchen, helping his mother and sister prepare meals. It was in these early moments, watching the happiness a well-cooked meal could bring, that Chef Saugat discovered his lifelong passion for cooking.
Driven by curiosity and determination, Chef Saugat pursued formal education in Hotel Management at GVN College, preparing himself for a career that would eventually take him across the globe. At just 19 years old, he moved to London, stepping into the high-pressure, fast-paced world of professional kitchens. Starting as a Kitchen Assistant, Chef Saugat learned the importance of discipline, teamwork, and precision. Every dish he prepared, every task he completed, became a stepping stone toward his dream of becoming a world-class chef.

Through sheer dedication and hard work, Chef Saugat rose quickly, taking roles as Commis Chef at InterContinental The O2, then 1st Commis Chef at Il Gattopardo Restaurant in London, and later as Demi Chef de Partie in Dubai. Each experience expanded his culinary knowledge, exposing him to diverse cuisines, intricate techniques, and the art of creating exceptional dining experiences. Since November 2025, Chef Saugat has been bringing his creativity and expertise to InterContinental Sydney Hotel Coogee, where he continues to uphold the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene, while mentoring junior staff and managing kitchen operations with skill and care.

Behind every achievement, Chef Saugat draws inspiration from his mentors and idols—Chef Massimo and Chef Galileo, Corporate Chefs of Dream International Group—whose guidance has helped shape his vision and work ethic. Chef Saugat believes that true success in the kitchen comes not only from talent but from resilience, continuous learning, and the ability to bring joy to others through food.

At just 22 years old, Chef Saugat Bhandari Chhetri exemplifies the spirit of ambition, dedication, and perseverance. A certified member of Chef Nepal, Chef Saugat is committed to growing as a culinary leader, innovating new dishes, and one day achieving his goal of becoming a Sous Chef. His story is a source of inspiration for aspiring chefs, showing that with passion, determination, and hard work, even the loftiest dreams can become reality.
