Chef Krishna Tamang’s culinary journey is a testament to dedication, passion, and perseverance. Born and raised in Kathmandu with roots in Nuwakot, he comes from a humble family background where hard work and sincerity were core values. After completing his basic schooling (SLC), he set out in search of opportunity and professional growth — beginning a remarkable culinary career that now spans nearly two decades.


In 2006, Chef Krishna took his first step into the world of hospitality by joining The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Doha, as a kitchen helper. With determination and a deep desire to learn, he embraced every challenge, absorbing the fundamentals of kitchen operations and international standards. His growth continued when he moved to Dubai in 2008 to join the pre-opening team of The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina. Over the next six years, he honed his craft across various roles — from Commis I to Demi Chef de Partie — gaining expertise in menu execution, high-volume operations, and professional kitchen discipline. By the time he left in 2014, he had developed a strong identity in Italian cuisine and a deep appreciation for Mediterranean, Mexican, continental flavors.

Driven by family values and a longing to contribute to his home country, Chef Krishna returned to Nepal in 2014. His homecoming marked the beginning of a new chapter: leading kitchens and elevating dining experiences in some of Kathmandu’s well-known establishments. He first joined Vesper Café & Restaurant in Patan as Head Chef, where he strengthened his leadership skills and introduced refined culinary practices. He later took on the role of Executive Chef at L’Italiano Restaurant in Lalitpur, further cementing his reputation as a master of authentic Italian cuisine.


Today, Chef Krishna serves as the Executive Chef of Piano Piano — overseeing both Piano Piano South in Sanepa and Nomad Piano Piano in Lazimpat. Known for his commitment to quality, teamwork, and innovation, he leads his kitchens with a focus on fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, and consistent guest satisfaction. His expertise extends beyond Italian cuisine into Mexican, Continental, Spanish, and Mediterranean dishes, yet his heart remains deeply connected to the Italian kitchens where his professional identity was shaped.
