Bhanubhakta Kandel is a dedicated hospitality professional and experienced chef from Dhorpatan Municipality in Baglung District, Nepal. Born on August 30, 1990, and currently based in Japan, his culinary journey reflects determination, adaptability, and years of hands-on experience gained across Nepal, the Middle East, and Asia.
His professional journey in hospitality began in 2012 in Saudi Arabia, where he started working as a waiter in a restaurant. Although his role was initially in service, the experience introduced him to the discipline, standards, and fast-paced nature of the international hospitality industry. During this period, he developed a strong understanding of customer service, restaurant operations, and teamwork, laying the foundation for his future growth in the food and beverage sector.
After returning to Nepal, Bhanubhakta took his first entrepreneurial step by establishing and independently operating a restaurant called Plaza Kitchen near Shankar Dev Campus in Putalisadak, Kathmandu. Starting directly from the kitchen, he spent nearly two years strengthening his culinary skills while learning every aspect of restaurant management through practical experience. From food preparation and kitchen operations to customer service and business management, this phase played a crucial role in shaping his confidence and professional identity as a chef.

Later, he expanded his experience further by opening another restaurant, Atithi Tandoor, near BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital in Bharatpur, Chitwan. Through this venture, he gained deeper exposure to cooking, team coordination, customer relations, and hospitality management. His passion for food and commitment to quality service helped him grow not only as a culinary professional but also as a leader capable of managing restaurant operations efficiently.
Driven by a desire to gain international exposure and refine his skills further, Bhanubhakta later moved to Japan, where he currently works in multicultural restaurant environments. Working in Japan has allowed him to adapt to diverse kitchen systems, international work cultures, and high hospitality standards while continuing to grow professionally. Over the years, he has developed experience in Nepali, Indian, and Japanese cuisine, blending traditional flavors with modern culinary practices and precision.
Known for his hardworking nature and dedication to continuous improvement, Bhanubhakta believes that hospitality is built on consistency, discipline, and respect for both food and people. His multilingual ability in Nepali, English, Hindi, and Japanese has also helped him work effectively in international environments and connect with people from different cultural backgrounds.

Today, as a certified member of Chef Nepal, Bhanubhakta Kandel continues to represent Nepali hospitality professionals abroad with pride. His journey from a restaurant waiter in Saudi Arabia to an experienced chef working internationally reflects perseverance, self-learning, and a strong passion for the culinary profession. Through his work and experience, he hopes to continue growing within the global hospitality industry while promoting the presence and potential of Nepali chefs on the international stage.
