Mango Festival at Utpala Cafe

Kathmandu, June 24 (Tuesday)

This week, Kathmandu is getting ready to enjoy the taste of summer with two exciting mango festivals, both celebrating Nepal’s favorite summer fruit - "the mango".

The first event, called Mango Fest at Utpala Café, will take place from June 26 to 28 at Utpala Café in Boudha. This three-day event is fully organized by the café and will be held only at that location. Entry is free, and visitors can buy and enjoy a variety of mango dishes, fresh mangoes, and drinks made by the café’s team.

The second festival, called the Nepal Mango Fest, is happening from June 27 to 29 at different places in Kathmandu. It is being organized by a group of partners: Kathmandu Organics, R&D Innovative Solution, UB Holdings, AgriNepal, and Earthier. This event aims to promote mangoes grown in Southern Nepal and support local farmers. The festival will include games, tasting sessions, exhibitions, and stalls that show how mangoes are grown, sold, and used.

Both events are free to enter, but guests will need to pay if they want to buy or taste mango products.

As summer heats up, it’s the perfect time to enjoy mangoes. They are not only tasty but also full of health benefits. Mangoes are rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber, and they help with digestion, immunity, and skin health. Whether you enjoy them with yogurt, sticky rice, chili salt, or ice cream - mangoes are a must-have during Nepali summers.
